Flashforge AD5X

Flashforge's multi-colour machine bundles the four-spool IFS unit into the price rather than selling it separately, which puts a complete four-colour CoreXY printer at $349 — cheaper than most rivals' bare printers before a changer is added. That bundling is the whole proposition, and it makes the comparison honest in a way combo pricing usually is not. The 32 mm³/s published flow carries over, as does the 280 °C hotend ceiling that keeps it to PLA and PETG. Purge waste is the same problem it is on every single-nozzle changer: the hot end has to be flushed at each colour change, and on a 220 mm bed the purge block is a meaningful fraction of the plate. Take it as a cheap, fast, four-colour PLA machine and it is good value; expect engineering materials and it is not that printer.

32 mm³/s ÷ (0.4 mm × 0.2 mm) = 400 mm/s. The AD5X is advertised at 600 mm/s, so the hotend can feed 67% of the headline figure. An estimate for a straight line at the hotend’s rated flow — real prints are slower again.
