Sovol SV08 Max
A 500 mm cube is 125 litres — three times the Sovol SV08 it is named after, and by a wide margin the largest build volume in this catalogue. It is also a CoreXY rather than a bed-slinger, which is the only sensible way to move a toolhead across a plate that size at speed. Everything that makes the SV08 interesting carries over: full linear rails, open Klipper with root access, eddy-current bed scanning, individually available spares. The enclosure is again optional, and with it the usable height drops to 450 mm; a separate chamber-heating module is sold for it, which is the piece that would make 125 litres of ABS plausible. Unmodified, with a 100 °C bed and no enclosure, this is a very large PLA and PETG machine — and at $1,099 there is nothing close on volume per dollar.

Not published
Sovol does not publish a volumetric flow rate for the SV08 Max, so its 700 mm/s claim cannot be checked against what the hotend can actually melt. We do not estimate one.
Best forThe largest single-piece prints possible on a desktop budget, in PLA or PETG.

Features
- 500 mm cube — 125 litres, the largest here by a wide margin
- CoreXY with full linear rails and open Klipper
- Optional enclosure kit (reduces height to 450 mm) and a separate chamber-heating module
- Eddy-current bed scanning across a 500 mm plate
- 700 mm/s claimed, with a camera included
What it does well
- 125 litres at $1,099 is unmatched volume per dollar anywhere in this catalogue
- CoreXY geometry, not a bed-slinger, which is the only way a 500 mm plate stays fast
- Open Klipper with root access on a machine of this scale
- Chamber heating and enclosure are both available as factory modules rather than hacks
- Eddy-current scanning is the right levelling method for a plate this large
Where it gives ground
- Enclosure and chamber heating are extra, so the base machine is PLA and PETG only
- Adding the enclosure costs 50 mm of height
- 100 °C bed is low for parts 500 mm across, where warping forces are greatest
- No published flow rate, which matters more here than anywhere — 125 litres takes days to fill
- Very new, and a physically enormous machine to house
