QIDI Max4

Fifty-two litres behind a driven 65 °C chamber, with a 370 °C nozzle and a 390 × 390 mm bed that QIDI has gone out of its way to make heat evenly — the marketing leads on bed uniformity, which on a plate this size is the difference between a flat part and a banana. It is the largest actively heated volume in this catalogue: the Creality K2 Plus and Anycubic Kobra S1 Max are both 350 mm cubes, and Bambu's H2S is 340 mm. A 2 mm-lead Z screw with an anti-backlash nut addresses the Z-wobble that shows up as banding on tall prints. Against the K2 Plus it costs slightly less for more volume and a hotter nozzle; against a Bambu H2S it is a fifth cheaper with 20% more room. What QIDI does not have is either company's software, ecosystem or support depth.

Real speed ceiling

500 mm/s

40 mm³/s ÷ (0.4 mm × 0.2 mm) = 500 mm/s. The Max4 is advertised at 600 mm/s, so the hotend can feed 83% of the headline figure. An estimate for a straight line at the hotend’s rated flow — real prints are slower again.

Features

  • 390 × 390 × 340 mm — 51.7 litres, the largest heated chamber here
  • Published 40 mm³/s flow rate and a 370 °C nozzle
  • Chamber driven to 65 °C, bed to 120 °C
  • 2 mm-lead Z screw with an anti-backlash nut
  • AI camera and QIDI Box multi-colour compatibility

What it does well

  • Largest actively heated build volume in this catalogue, beating the K2 Plus and H2S on room
  • Publishes 40 mm³/s, so its throughput can be compared rather than assumed
  • 370 °C nozzle and 120 °C bed across 51.7 litres covers PC and nylon at size
  • Anti-backlash Z screw is a direct answer to banding on tall prints
  • Cheaper than the Bambu H2S with 20% more volume

Where it gives ground

  • QIDI's ecosystem, slicer and support are all behind Bambu's and Creality's
  • QIDI Box adds $199 and lags AMS and CFS in development
  • A machine this size needs dedicated space and a considered power supply
  • 65 °C chamber matches rather than beats the cheaper Q2 and Plus5
